Rural Pharmacy Student Placement and Administrative Support
The Rural Pharmacy Student Placement Allowance provides financial support to encourage and enable pharmacy programs at Australian Universities to deliver student placements in rural and remote communities. The allowance assists with the travel and accommodation costs associated with undertaking a placement in a rural or remote area.
The Administrative Support to Pharmacy Schools component of the allowance is for Pharmacy Schools to maintain the administration of the program.

Applicants for the Rural Pharmacy Student Placement allowance must:
- be Australian citizens or permanent residents; and
- be enrolled as a full-time student in an undergraduate pharmacy degree or as part of a graduate entry course at any Australian university.
Applicants must apply through their university.
Applicants and universities must abide by the Program Specific Guidelines.
Each placement allowance has a maximum value of $3,000 (plus GST) per student per eligible placement and will be paid via the university.
Funds may only be used to assist with travel and accommodation costs for students travelling to eligible rural areas to undertake a placement.
